This article is about “All my life piano numbers”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “All my life piano numbers”:

You can be free from so many musical rules while playing improvisation.

I have started learning piano at the age of 17. Do you remember how you were when you were seventeen? You guessed right! I wanted to be popular.

Being the late starter, I have developed many shortcuts to train myself and have my audiences recognized me as a good piano player.

I selected jazz piano as my target. I liked jazz very much, of course.

Other than that, I was hypnotized with the improvisation. I thought I could be free from all the musical rules once I claimed that I was playing improvisation. Of course there is chord progression and rhythm to keep. You cannot get away from the basic configuration of music. But one thing is sure that nobody can claim that you are not following the score, or you are making mistakes in playing melody line.

So, the more I learn jazz, the more I feel free. I am 66 years old and enjoy playing jazz because of this reason. So I have decided to start a program to tell my joyful experience of jazz piano.

To improvise a melody line, the first thing is that you have to recognize its base scale. You cannot be out of scale of the key. If the key of your favorite melody were C major, you could not use other notes than the notes that are included in C major scale, basically.

Well the truth of the matter is, since the music is of human feeling, you can use any notes at all. But if you use a note that is not in the C major scale, you have to resolve to a note that is in the scale. This is where you need to learn about harmony.

Is it complicated? No, it is not. The theory comes after the reality. The theory is set so that you can apply it universally. Besides, you can make money by teaching it. Right?

In constructing musical theory, the base lies if you feel comfortable with listening to the stream of notes. There is thrilling development does exist. The development has to be resolved. In classical music, “variation” is an example of improvisation of main theme. Yes, you now know that there has been improvisation in classical music.

Do you listen to Miles Davis? When Miles played with Monk, Monk did not play backing chord. No, I cannot recall the title of it. Miles did not want Monk to play, according to its discography. Because he had sensed that his chord progression had not matched with that of Mr. Monk.

Yes, both do what they want to do in the session. Are they not arrogant? But you know that they are entitled to do so.

This article is about “Debatable topics on environment conservation”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Debatable topics on environment conservation”:

Phosphates are found in many detergents, cleaning products, fertilizers and in water. Phosphate is a mixture of salt and phosphoric acid and is considered to be an inorganic material. Water-softening phosphates are great for breaking down grease and they remove stains very well but are often difficult to remove in waste water. They very often end up in rivers and lakes which increases algae growth (algae blooms), choking lakes and streams, suffocating fish and aquatic life.

There are two sides to the issue of if detergents should contain phosphate. On one side are environmentalists who are fighting for cleaning products, like dishwasher detergents, to not have it in them. On the other side are people who want good cleaning products that do the job they’re supposed to. There have been many complaints about these more expensive cleaning products and detergents that don’t contain phosphate because they don’t clean very well. States like Washington have begun setting low limits on it in dishwasher detergent, forcing people to smuggle in brands like Cascade and Electrasol over the state borders from stores like Costco. Other states are considering similar legislation and environmentalists say it’s just a matter of time before laws banning phosphates in detergents goes nation-wide.

Phosphates are an important plant nutrient but higher than normal levels can destroy the health of lakes. They allow increased algae growth make clear lakes and rivers look green and cloudy. This addition growth of the algae is not unappealing to look at and also makes the water smell bad. It’s not something people really want to swim in. Another downside to increased levels is that it can make drinking water more expensive to filter as it makes its way back to our faucets.

This demand in good cleaning products that are earth-friendly / eco-friendly has brought many new dishwasher detergents to the market. Some of these brands are Seventh Generation, Caldrea and Biokleen – among others. These new brands seem to have mixed reviews about how clean they will get dishes. People are trying them and are finding that some work decently while others don’t do the job.

Cleaning dishes is important since you do not want grease or old food to remain on dishes, possibly growing harmful bacteria, causing sickness. Some people have ditched using their dishwashers and have gone to hand washing their dishes to make sure they get clean as they wait for the industry to come out with a good dishwasher detergent that is green, inexpensive and does a good job cleaning. Until such a new detergent proves itself worthy, people will need to scrub a little harder or continue to smuggle in other brands to do their cleaning.

This article is about “Violin maker D. salazar”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Violin maker D. salazar”:

Fado is more alive than ever. A new generation of artists joins to the mythic voices of its early times. Fado music is the heart of the Portuguese soul. The essential element of fado music is “saudade,” a Portuguese word that means longing. It is a sad music that sings to the destiny, to the death, to the betrayal love, to the despair and to the melancholy.

The origin of this popular music goes back to the 19th century and arises among the low classes and marginal neighborhoods. Fado was the earthy music of taverns and brothels and street corners in Alfama and Mouraria, the old poor sections of Lisbon. Later, these songs proceeding from the suburbs, became fashionable among the aristocratic class, which introduced its verses in their lives as an eccentricity of ordinary people. Like other forms of folk music such as Argentine tango, American blues or Spanish flamenco, fado cannot be explained; it must be felt and experienced. Fado can be performed by men or women. A `fadista´ or fado singer communicates through gesture and facial expressions. The hands move, the body is stationary.

This music reached its golden times in the first half of the 20th century, when the Portuguese dictatorship of Salazar forced the fado performers to become professional and confined them to sing in the fado houses. Nowadays, it is protected by official institutions and cultivated as tourist spectacle.

The unrivaled queen of the fado was Amalia Rodrigues, worshiped at home and celebrated abroad as the most famous representative of Portuguese culture. Other great names of fado music were among others these were Carlos Ramos, Alfredo Marceneiro, Berta Cardoso, Maria Teresa de Noronha, Hermínia Silva, Fernando Farinha, Fernando Maurício, Lucília do Carmo or Manuel de Almeida.

Nowadays, Cristina Branco and Mariza walk the fine line between carrying on the tradition and trying to bring in a new audience.

If you travel to Lisbon, don´t forget to go to a fado spectacle. There are some restaurants where you can have dinner listening to beautiful fados. The best fado houses are located in the quarters of Alfama, Mouraria, Bairro Alto and Madragoa. Take a look to Apartments Lisbon and discover this amazing music. You will enjoy it!

This article is about “Slide whistle, kids, how to make”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Slide whistle, kids, how to make”:

Purchasing one that has all the bells and whistles will allow your kids to enjoy their outdoor time to the max. They have become more fun over the years. There are so many different types that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages. From the little ones to the older kids who can play on the swing set by themselves – there is something for everyone.

Mountain climbing walls, gliders, play decks, wave slides, steering wheels and sandboxes are all that you can purchase today to make the swing set the ultimate play place. Kids love slides and there are a variety of wiggly and straight, spiral or winding slides that will provide hours of fun for your kids. These slides come in a variety of lengths and some are even made to attach to another such as a fort or a play deck.

There are even punching bags that can be added to allow the kids to have a great workout. Adding a punching bag can be a good way for your kids to work off their excess energy. How about a knotted climbing rope? These are available in 14-foot length and longer depending on the type of swing set you have. This is another way kids can build their skills and get the exercise and outdoor time they need. Steering wheels are one of them that can be added. Every little one likes to mimic mom and dad turning the wheel and driving along. The best way to let them practice their driving skills is to give them their own steering wheel. Attach it to the swing set and off they go on their adventure to who knows where.

The swinging teeter-totter is another of the popular ones that kids have been enjoying for years. They love to go up and down while swinging back and forth. This can provide many hours of fun for your kids. A face-to-face glider is another variation of this accessory. The kids can climb in and sit in their own seat and glide back and forth with brothers and sisters or friends.

The disc swing is another type of swing that can bring hours of fun to the back yard. Kids can stand or sit on the disc and enjoy twisting or swing in every direction. The swing is easily installed on the beam of the swing set and held by a rope.A combination trapeze bar and rings will be the ultimate solutions for your little gymnast. They will enjoy swinging using the rings or the bar and they can show off all the tricks they learn. All of the different accessories you purchase for the swing set can allow your child’s imagination free reign. They can be anyone they want to be from an astronaut to a race car driver.

A tunnel is another accessory that is a must for the swing set to give the kids somewhere to play hide and seek. This is a variation of the slide but it is covered which makes it even more fun. The majority of these swing set accessories today are made from a very resilient plastic which holds up better and is not as rough on kids as aluminum and metal parts on the swing sets of old.

This article is about “Japanese band nirvana”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Japanese band nirvana”:

The first ‘Foo Fighters’ album was a collection of Dave Grohl’s solo recordings and was their official debut. This American band was formed by musician Dave Grohl in 1995. The name ‘Foo Fighters’ came after World War II where it was named for various unexplained phenomena in World War II. Pilots in Europe called them “Kraut balls”. It was how they referred to the Japanese fliers who were infamous for their erratic flying. The name “Foo Fighters” is the name given by the historians and scientists to the general body of circular, spherical, disc-like, or wedged shaped “bogies”.

This famous band has established themselves as one of the hardest rocking outfits on the planet. “Foo Fighters” are known for their inventive videos and live performances. The ‘ Foo Fighters’ band was formed by former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl. Their official debut, ‘Colour and Shape’ sounds different than its predecessor. This album comes with some of the best tunes and melodies you have heard. The album has a collection of pop rock classics, full of bounce and melody. Foo Fighters come with a real feeling of originality and depth in their songs. The slight metal overtones give an extra effect to their song. Songs like ‘Hey, Johnny Park!’ and ‘My Hero’ are an example.

The band “Foo Fighters” was officially formed in 1995 and they bought out their first album in 1995 that was named as Foo Fighters. The name is originated from a secret force agency in World War II. In 1997, they came with their second album, Colour and Shape. In 1999, they launched their album, “There is nothing to Lose” which won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2001.

The “Foo Fighters” also performed at the John Kerry Campaigns events in the 2004. In 2005, they bought their latest album, “Echoes Silence Patience Grace”.

There are various math motivators that are being used today like board games, card games, math tricks, online games, interactive games and many more but still Math puzzles are one of the easiest and enjoyable learning materials we have around. There are several types of Math puzzles you can choose from but let me discuss first these types.

Math Crossword Puzzles. Just like the standard crossword puzzles we have on the entertainment pages of our daily newspapers, math crossword puzzles have the same basic format like the questions for across or down for a specific number. But of course the difference is that the questions provided are all about Math concepts and the answers are all numbers, no words.

Math Addition. Addition puzzles requires the player to fill in the blanks where the final results or total across and down is the same. This type of puzzle enhances a child’s concepts on addition.

Math Word Search. Just like the ordinary word search puzzles you have to search for the words listed below the puzzle and tag them whether they going vertically, horizontally or diagonally, forward reading or backward. The main difference is that only mathematical terms and concepts are listed for you to find.

Sudoku. This math puzzle and its name was popularized in Japan by Nikoli but the first known puzzle like Sudoku was known as Number Place and was designed by Howard Garns of Indiana. Sudoku is a 9 by 9 grid puzzle that has to be filled with the numbers 1 to 9 using each number only once. Most of the puzzles are already partially filled which makes the filling up of the vacant boxes harder.

Algebra Crossword Puzzles. Just like the Math crossword puzzles, the Algebra crossword puzzles follows the same basic format except that the questions provided are on Algebra lessons and concepts and the answers to these questions can be algebraic equations or expressions.

Any of these math puzzle games would be fun to do alone or with a group but what is important is that these puzzles provides practice and training on math concepts and theories. The satisfaction we get from these math puzzles is the sense of fulfillment and elation especially when you get to complete these puzzles.

Jennifer Aniston is the American classic, while Zoe Saldana turned out to be the Red Carpet Queen. Well, to look the fashionable best with dollops of oomph and class is certainly a task. This year People magazine’s Hall of Frame best-dressed females 2010 also features stunning gals like Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton.

So at No. 1 we have Zoe Saldana as The Red Carpet Queen, fashion lovers and critics can’t forget her frilly purple gown, a Givenchy Haute Couture dress, from the Oscar night. The lady loves clothes which have just hit the runway. She is passionate about clothes.

In No 2 position resides Gwen Stefani as “The Hip Mom”. She has now turned a designer for her own fashion line L.A.M.B. The lady who believes to be funky draws inspiration from places like Guatemala, Japan and Jamaica for her clothes. Like the colorful places, like her vibrant clothes.

The R & B singer comes in 3rd spot with her quirky, edgy, challenging fashion choices. Who can do the “outrageous” better than her and still walk off with the title of best-dressed female. That’s why she is the “Daring diva”.

“Inglorious Basterds” German actress Diane Kruger is at number four, with her affection for bold and fabulous.

At number 5 is the Glee breakout star Lea Michele who knows the long and short of fashion and looks stunning wearing both lengths. She is the “It Girl”. The actress and singer is practicing well the chapters from the fashion book.

The No. 6 spot goes to Olivia Palermo who is “The Uptown Girl”. The socialite turned actress Olivia does big city chic well with bold choices and exotic jewellery. She has recently launched her own jewellery collection. Bravo!

Jessica Alba is number 7 with an eclectic sense of dressing as she likes to mix casual designs with feminine fashions with a hard edge. The young actress is “Mix Master”.

Jennifer Aniston is the winner of the “American Classic” category. Her simple, yet subtle way of presenting herself has earned her brownie points.

The “Denim Darling” Rachel Bilson is at number nine for her love of jeans. The girl likes to wear them in all shapes and sizes. Comfort is her key mantra. Her much-copied street style includes vintage flares, cuffed-up boyfriend jeans and leggy cut-offs.

The smart and classic Kate Middleton is “The Princess in Waiting”. Her tailored coats have got many fashion eyeballs. Better known as “Waity Katey” she is royally at No.10.

This article is about “Bands of america regional scores 2010″, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Bands of america regional scores 2010″:

The CSIET (Council on Standards for International Education Travel) is a not-for-profit organization that identifies reputable international youth exchange programs. They also help promote the importance and educational value of international youth exchange, as well as provide leadership and support to the communities involved with exchange and education. They release annual reports on the statistics of both inbound (international students coming to the US) and outbound (American students going abroad) exchange students.

Now, we’re talking about high-school students here. Not college students – that’s not governed or tracked by the CSIET. There are currently 60 programs on the CSIET Advisory List that have a “full” listing status, which means they are fully reputable organizations that either send US students abroad or host international students in the US.

Well, here are a handful of the statistics for the year 2009-2010.

* The top 5 countries that American students study abroad to are: 1. Germany 2. France 3. Italy 4. Spain 5. Japan

* California was the state sending the highest number of students abroad: 200.

* The majority of American students going abroad on exchange are from Western states (CA, OR, WA, AZ, CO, UT, NV, MT, ID)

* The total number of American students sent on exchange for either a school year or semester: 1,980. This is the lowest number of American high-school exchange students in the last seven years. Not counted in this statistic are the many summer programs offered to American high-school students.

Now contrast our total number of students going abroad with the total number of international students who came to the US: 28,142. Again, this is high-school. The majority of international students who come to the US during their high school career do not have that year counted; it is a lost year academically for them. And yet they come.

According to the latest statistics, the majority of those 28,142 students are hosted in the Midwest region of the US (MI, WI, IL, MN, OH, IN, IA), mainly Minnesota and Michigan.

These statistics prompt questions, at least for me.

Why would 28,000+ students from all over the world come to the US for a year of high school when that year does not give them any academic scores? Why do the majority of Americans who go on exchange come from the Western states, mainly California? Why are the main countries where Americans go on exchange mainly in Europe?

I have no proven answers, but I have my own conjectures and theories.

Why would 28,000+ students from all over the world come to the US for a year of high school when that year does not give them any academic scores?

Many of the international exchange students who I meet are very excited to live in another country. American culture has been broadcast out to them through a variety of mediums, from television series to rock bands and pop stars to snack foods and fast food chains. They see America all the time. Or do they? They’re pretty sure American life is not like that. And they want to see for themselves. They want to experience what it means to be American.

Why do the majority of Americans who go on exchange come from the Western states, mainly California?

California is one of the most populous states in the country. There were 2,013,687 students enrolled in a CA high school for the year 2008-2009. But this begs another question. If there were so many millions of students in a CA high school that year, why is it that only a couple hundred of them went on exchange? From my experience living in CA, many of the students I have asked why they want to go abroad, their reasons vary. Some say it’s because they know someone who has gone abroad. Others had someone from a CSIET-identified program come to their school and give a presentation. Perhaps there is very little penetration of exchange programs into California high schools. As stated above, the majority of international students are hosted in the Midwest. Students in Midwest high schools have a higher chance of coming in contact with an international student, perhaps prompting them to think about going abroad themselves.

Why are the main countries where Americans go on exchange mainly in Europe?

Europe has always been closely attached to our own culture. European history is widely taught at both the high school and university level. European languages are taught in high schools, mostly French and Spanish. It would make sense then that the countries Americans want to learn more about are France and Spain. It just so happens that Germany, since World War Two, has made incredible strides in opening itself up to other countries. The country’s immigration levels have increased dramatically in the last four decades. It is literally mind-boggling the amount of study abroad or work abroad opportunities Germans have as high-school or college students. In Germany, high school students are encouraged to study abroad, perhaps unlike their American counterparts.

This article is about “Www.languagesonline.org.uk translater”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Www.languagesonline.org.uk translater”:

Are English speaking websites based in the US simply insular

and uncaring about foreign web traffic or are we actually

Xenophobic?

Xenophobia – a phobic attitude toward strangers – comes from

the Greek words xenos, meaning “foreigner”, “stranger”.

Trolling through the “referrers” section in my web site

traffic logs routinely shows hundreds of Google foreign

language searches. Those foreign language search referrals

usually total just slightly more than the combined total of

Yahoo and MSN English language search referrals. So doesn’t

it make sense to pay more attention to foreign language

search in SEO than to fiddle with Yahoo and MSN optimization?

My traffic logs routinely show hundreds of translation tool

referrals.

Those referrals come from foreign language searchers that

REALLY want to read the pages. Foreign language visitors

who don’t know about online translation tools (like Google’s)

will leave the search result pages without visiting your site.

Why not provide your pages in the most common European

and Asian languages with your text in their native language

already? Look in your logs for the following referrer URL:

[http://64.233.179.104/translate_c] with URL’s of your own

site appended. This query at “Google English” is a request by

a foreign language user for a translation of that page on your

site. The most common of them are from Google.es (Spain) and

Google.de (Germany) and Google.pt (Portugal). Last month

there were nearly 1,000 of these queries from Google

translation tools in my logs. Check that tool out here:

http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

This translation – or “Language Tools” page at Google is

helpful in escaping our insular attitudes about English

language search by showing us that Google currently supports

34 languages and hosts servers in 141 countries – literally

from A to Z. http://www.Google.ae (United Arab Emirates) to

http://www.Google.co.zm (Zambia)

Google has 117 languages listed on that page, but they’ve

buried a few ringers in there with “Elmer Fudd”, “Klingon”,

and “Pig Latin” to throw linguists for a loop. While it’s

interesting to use those funny options, clicking the “I’m

Feewing Wucky” on the “Elmer Fudd” language produces the same

results as does the English language search, it’s just cuter

with the letters “L” and “R” replaced with “W’s” on the

search page.

http://www.google.com/intl/xx-elmer/

But we need to look at the fundamental reason that Google

offers this “Language Tools” page and the machine translation

there. It is because web site owners in the U.S. don’t offer

multiple languages on their own sites.

While it is not uncommon to see a row of four to six flags

representing the top few languages on many European based

sites (especially Italy, Spain and France based companies) -

it is actually rare to see multiple language options on U.S.

based business sites.

There are manifold reasons for this lack of communication by

English speaking countries with the rest of the world. The

top reason is that we simply don’t need to know other

languages to live our daily lives in this country, so we

rarely think of using other languages online. While English

is a primary language spoken around the world, including

Canada, Australia, India, Britain and is a second language

spoken by millions of primarily foreign language speakers.

While it is common to visit major cities in Japan, Italy,

Mexico and dozens of metropolitan cities around the planet

without fear that we’ll be unable to find English speaking

hoteliers, restaurateurs, and even cabbies – it is an

arrogant expectation. I’ve been to each of those countries

and didn’t need any Japanese, Italian or Spanish language

skills while on either business or pleasure.

But we’ve got to be realistic if we are to take part in the

global medium of the web. Those web pages are viewable by an

estimated 700 million people around the world and millions

of those would happily visit and read your web site if it

were available in the world’s top languages and indexed in

foreign search engines. So why not provide that option?

Major corporate web sites in the U.S. will inevitably require

polished human translation of their major web pages, with

variations for international tastes and preferences – most

small and medium business sites cannot afford that option.

This leaves machine translation as the best remaining option.

While it is possible for any site visitor to use translation

tools online to convert your English language text into

foreign tongues, it sends the visitor away from your site to

the translation service. Not ideal.

The best option is to use translation software to put those

foreign language variations on your own site and host them

from your own server in the languages you offer. The reason

to host them is, very simply, that if you provide machine

translated foreign variants of all your pages, they will be

crawled by foreign search engines and indexed and ranked on

European and Asian search engines.

The web audience in China was roughly estimated at just over

100 million in 2005 and is expected to balloon in the near

future. Simply being indexed for Chinese language searches

and reasonably ranked could increase traffic for U.S. sites

dramatically. The European audience is fragmented with many

more language options – the main representative languages on

the web are Spanish, French, Portugese, German & Italian,

while Chinese, Korean and Japanese make up the bulk of the

remaining web audience. Those eight languages are offered in

popular machine translation software packages.

If a site has already been optimized for English language

search, the SEO will have included the most important

keywords. While machine translation is not entirely reliable

for proper sentence structure and grammar once translated, it

at least gets most words and many word combinations correct.

Content sites, who often rely on advertising for income,

would love to see the extra pageviews and ad clicks coming

from foreign visitors reading their pages in their native

language.

Once a content site owner sees their largest foreign audience

trends (through web traffic analytics statistics), they can

fine-tune their SEO for individual languages and actually pay

for professional translation and foreign language SEO of the

most profitable pages. But simply getting a content site

indexed by search engines in more than eight new countries

will bring waves of new visitors and increase advertising

income substantially.

This article is about “Kenukigatatachi”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Kenukigatatachi”:

Swords first appeared in Japan in 240 – 280 A.D. when China sent two double-edged tsurugi swords as gifts to Queen Himeko. It is unknown for sure, but it is generally believed the art of forging steel into swords spread from China to Japan sometime during the third and fourth centuries. Straight, single-edged swords called chokuto have been found dating to the fifth century. More advanced hardening methods during the forging process developed during the sixth century.

Around the eight century swords became curved to help accommodate fighting on horseback. These early swords were called tachi, and were characterized by a long, curved, single-edged blade. Two common types of tachi during this period were the kogarasumaru and kenukigatatachi. The tachi reigned supreme as the weapon of choice in Japan from the eighth to twelfth century. During this time the practice of using soft steel for the inner core and harder steel for the outer surface and blade became common. It became customary for the sword smith to sign the blade. The oldest blade with a sword smith’s signature is by Sanjo Munechika.

During the thirteenth century samurai used tachi and other weapons to fight off invading Mongols. During these invasions it became apparent the tip of the tachi was too easily broken and difficult, if not impossible, to repair. Designs of later swords would be influenced by this fact. During the fourteenth century longer swords, around 120-150cm, were created. The long swords were good for delivering devastating blows, but they were not quick to draw. In the fifteenth century swords were shortened to around 70cm to accommodate quicker draw times. These swords were called uchigatana.

During the sixteenth century swords became even shorter, averaging 60-65cm, to facilitate increased portability. These swords are called katana, and were carried with the blade facing upward so that a deadly strike could be carried out while drawing the sword. In contrast, the katana’s predecessor, the tachi, was carried with the blade facing downward. During this period the use of katana was at its height in Japan as firearms had not been introduced to Japan yet.

When the Portuguese brought firearms to Japan in 1543 Japanese warlords knew the strategy of warfare would be dramatically altered. Standing armies were trained and equipped with muzzle-loading firearms. Although firearms were more effective in battle, samurai still carried their daisho, a long and a short sword, as a sign of their class. This custom ended in 1868 when Emperor Meiji outlawed the right of samurai to carry weapons. A further blow to samurai swords came when they were made illegal during the occupation of the Allied forces after World War II. Today many swords classified as national treasures are still missing.
