This article is about “Humidity antiques”, you can find here a huge variety of articles about “Humidity antiques”:

The word antique comes from the Latin word ‘antiquus’ meaning old. Antiques represent a bygone era of society and are desirable due to their age, condition, rarity, and craftsmanship. Antique items are highly valued for their utility, appeal and social acceptance. People are ready to pay a high price for perfectly maintained antiques and evidence for this can be gauged from the prices that dealers, auction houses, and brokers charge.

Apart from adding to the aesthetic value of your home, antiques are considered a good investment for fetching returns many times over the purchase price. It helps to know ways to take care of your valuable antiques, especially the ones that are extremely vulnerable, such as antique books.

Taking Care of Antique Books:

Knowing the parts of a book is important in taking good care of your valuable antique books. The spine of the book is the most sensitive and vulnerable part of the book. It is the binding that joins the front and rear covers of the book. Pages of the book are hinged to the spine and it is the thinnest and the most sensitive part of the book.

Leather bound books need special care to prevent the leather from becoming brittle and eventually cracking. The quality of the original leather, age of the skin and tanning process used are important factors to consider. Generally, leather produced before the 17th century is finer and usually longer lasting than leather produced after the 17th century. Modern leathers deteriorate much faster due to air pollutants and light. Relative humidity below 40% will dry up the leather and make it brittle and eventually crack; high humidity above 68% will hasten the chemical deterioration of the leather.

Store the book away from bright lights to prevent leather covers from fading and occasionally apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly – this will prevent the leather bound books from drying and cracking.

Humidity is another important factor responsible for the deterioration of antique books. It is advisable not to store the books in the basement or the attic, as both places experience heavy fluctuations in temperature and humidity levels during summer and winter. Also, the basement is likely to get flooded during heavy rains. Temperature in the range of 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal.

Low humidity will make the paper dry and brittle, and will tear while you are turning pages, whereas high humidity will cause paper swelling and warping. Mold spores are present in the air and dust. Mildew or molds are fungus and they thrive in humid and warm environments. High relative humidity encourages the growth of mold, causing serious damage to the book as molds digest the material. This will lead to staining and loss of strength. It is recommended that antique books be stored in a clean and dry place away from bright lights.

The covers of the book should be protected with transparent material. Acetate can be used to cover books, as it is both transparent and stable. In the unfortunate instance where the cover of your antique book comes off, please seek professional help. Trying to repair it yourself may cause further damage to the book.

Antique books are a valuable investment and you are advised to take good care of them.

This article is about “Leather boots and spandex”, we hope to bring more articles about “Leather boots and spandex” in the near future:

While many trends may come and go, leather boots are definitely forever. Thigh high are provocative, knee high, perfect for skirts, and of course ankle for pants. Go with conservative and neutral colors such as navy, black, or camel.

With every year comes new fashion trends. Some trends come in the form of a new wardrobe element, such as scarves, or fingerless gloves. Some trends come in the form of a brand, such as Juicy Couture, and UGGs. These trends are like candles. They burn brightly for but a moment, then die out, as fast as they came. However, there are certain items, elements of fashion and wardrobes, that will never go out of style. Simply because they are practical, classy, and can be enjoyed by all generations. One of these items is the leather boot.

Leather boots are timeless footwear pieces, coming in all sorts of sizes, and colors. They can be high, low, or medium heeled. In addition to heels the height of their shaft (where you put your leg) can also vary from ankle length, knee length, and of course, thigh length. Leather ankle boots are of course, perfect for pants and jeans. Knee length boots can be worn with jeans, but are also a great choice for spandex pants and skirts. Thigh High boots should be worn exclusively with skirts, but can be seen with certain spandex-like pants in the most provocative manner.

As far as colors go, it is best to stick with neutral colors. Black, Navy, Camel, Brown. These give the most sophisticated, classy, mature, and professional look, which is timeless. Colors that crave attention fall into the category of “Trends.”

With fall being half over and winter about to knock on our doors, there’s an invigorating and magical feeling in the air. If you haven’t done it already, the time has come to update your winter wardrobe!

With each new season, comes the opportunity for great new fashion finds. When it comes to the cool weather and those refreshing cold snaps – fashion is all about layering and accessorizing to keep warm and to look HOT!

For this winter season one word comes to mind – leather! You’ll see it on jackets, gloves and especially boots! Ladies leather boots are always a big style trend and this year is no different. As a matter of fact, this winter, expect to see them everywhere!

The really fun thing about the boot this season is that it isn’t just for wearing under long pants or just to keep your legs warm; this season the boot is being worn with the little black dress, the short mini, and even the pencil skirt!

Pairing them with great basics like leggings, tights and of course jeans and all lengths of skirts, ladies leather boots are a chic, sophisticated, finishing touch to all of your winter outfits. Most of all, every woman can pull off the boot look by pulling on the right pair for her body type.

Thigh high boots look best on long lean figures and the ankle and knee length boot can be worn by any and every figure. The important thing to remember is to balance your outfit by keeping the leg wear such as tights or leggings or skirts, the same or near same color as the boot. Think linear and try not to break the visual length of the leg. For pops of color go with colorful winter accessories and choose long tunics or tailored trench coats or blazers on top.

Ladies leather boots are not only a fabulous fashion find, they’re a must-have staple in every smart-dressed woman’s winter wardrobe!

This article is about “Is teijin microfiber more durable than leather?”, we hope to bring more articles about “Is teijin microfiber more durable than leather?” in the near future:

A question that often pops up when buying football boots (soccer cleats) is whether to choose boots made from leather or synthetic materials. Both types of boots have their pros and cons but it’s difficult to judge whether one is better than the other. Read on to find out which type of boot is suitable for you.

Up until the turn of the century, leather boots were considered superior than their synthetic counterparts and not surprisingly worn by the majority of professional players. At that time, leather boots were far more comfortable and better feel and provided better control. But due to the advancement in technology, synthetic boots are now considered equal if not better than leather boots.

Even against today’s high-tech synthetic materials, leather boots are still more comfortable and allow the user better feel for the ball. And comfort in my opinion, is the single most important factor when choosing a boot. Among the several choices of leather, kangaroo leather, often called k-leather, is the most comfortable but less durable while full grain leather is more durable but less comfortable.

Leather boots do have their downsides. Among them, they are more expensive. Most leather boots are not water-proof, making them a bad choice of footwear in wet conditions. They are also quite heavy, limiting the amount of features the manufacturer can put on them. Since leather is a delicate material, they require a high degree of maintenance. And finally, leather boots generally have a shorter life-span compared to synthetic boots.

Most synthetic boots today are made from a material called ‘Teijin microfiber’ which is a comfortable, lightweight material. Synthetic boots are light, allowing manufacturers to incorporate more technology into them. They’re also more durable, cheaper, and water-proof while requiring less maintenance. But they’re also less comfortable and provide less feel.

Although the odds seem in favor of synthetic boots, remember that comfort is the single most important factor to look for in football boots. Both types of boots also have their own sets of professional endorsers.

Here is a summary of the pros of each type of material along with some boot model examples. The pros of one type are also the cons of the other

Leather: Comfortable, feel for the ball

Models: The Adidas AdiPure range, the Nike Tiempo range

Synthetic: cheap, lightweight, waterproof, low maintenance, more durable

Models: The Nike Mercurial range, the Lotto Zhero range

This article is about “Can you ruin leather boots in the rain”, we hope to bring more articles about “Can you ruin leather boots in the rain” in the near future:

Since real leather shoes are costly, it makes sense to take good care of them and make them last. It is important to know the correct methods for cleaning; it will also help you in saving money, both in the short and long term. Read the instructions below to learn the correct way to clean leather shoes.

Is it time to clean yet? Make sure to clean your shoes at least monthly, if not weekly.

If you have been out in the mud and rain, immediately clean the shoes before the dirt can ruin the leather finish.

How to clean. Soft chamois is the best choice for using with leather cleansers. The best way to remove the dirt and mud from the leather is to dust it off with a clean shoe brush. Use a damp cloth and saddle soap to rub out scuffs and dirt clods. After applying leather lotion on your shoes evenly, you should then wipe the lotion off with a soft cloth or a chamois.

Appropriate storage. Storing leather shoes properly is the best way to prolong their life, as well as make them easier to clean and maintain. There are various options, such as a closet shelving system or a shoe hanger that hangs on the closet door. To allow the leather shoes to maintain their shape and avoid odors, you can use shoe trees.

Making the leather shoes gleam. You should polish leather footwear on a regular basis to maintain that sleek, like-new look. Most retail shoe shops will sell any color shoe polish that you need for your shoes. Put shoe polish smoothly over the leather using a soft cloth or a brush, then wipe away the polish with another piece of cloth or the brush. Finally, rub the leather with a clean cloth, until the leather has a shiny appearance. Do this on weekends at home, rather than pay a shoe repairer.

Cleansing various sorts of leather. Rippled, nubuck or suede leathers are a different story in regards to cleaning. To clean up different types of leather, specialist cleaners are available with appropriate equipment and materials.

Purchasing cleaners and additional material. Retail shoe stores carry the cleaners, lotions, polishes, and equipment necessary to clean and maintain leather. Pharmacist or chemist shops may also stock these items. The best online sites for purchasing cleaning supplies are Timpson, Johnston & Murphy, and The Shoe Shine Kit.

The care and cleaning methods that are listed above will help to keep all of your leather shoes looking clean and shiny. When you meet new people, a good pair of shoes always compliments your attire and helps the overall impression you make. You’ll be saving money too by regularly taking care of your shoe upkeep since they will last longer!

Of all the accessories in a woman’s wardrobe inventory, only a few can claim to be as functional as they are stylish. For the winter, one of those multi-purpose treasures is a great pair of ladies leather gloves!

What other element adds both class and comfort to a well-dressed woman’s outfit? By slipping on a pair of leather gloves, not only is she putting on just the right finishing touch to her ensemble, she’s also keeping the cold air off of her delicate hands.

With such a wide variety of styles to choose from, there’s a pair to go with anything and everything.

While the classic deep browns and versatile black are always in fashion, the latest trend is to add a pair of multi or brightly colored ladies leather gloves and give that WOW! factor to an otherwise neutral collection.

For an eye-catching, chic look, the next time you’re headed out for a day at the mall, trying pairing a few basic pieces in grays or blacks with fabulous cashmere-lined highlighter blue, or fur-lined hot pink ladies gloves. Add a few shopping bags to the picture and you’ll have had the perfect day!

When you’re wearing your favorite little black dress, slip into a pair of leather, opera-length gloves. Grab a long silk long scarf, wrap it gently around your neck, allowing one side to hang in front and the other to hang in the back. Before you know it, you’ll have everyone’s eyes on you!

If you’ve been trying to find the right accessory to finish off your sexy, snug turtleneck – tucked into your much loved jeans – try matching them with some great boots and a beautiful pair of mustard yellow gloves. Casual, comfort at its best!

Style divas everywhere are snatching up multiple pairs of ladies leather gloves for this cool weather season These Fashionistas know that the right accessories can make a woman’s look more polished – more put together – and that, is what fashion is all about.

This article is about “WhAT IS blocking leather boots”, we hope to bring more articles about “WhAT IS blocking leather boots” in the near future:

Playing basketball requires vigorous moves like running, jumping, side-to-side movements, blocking, and shooting. This involves a lot of wear and tear on shoes. In order to reduce wear and tear, basketball players need specially developed shoes, like basketball shoes.

Basketball shoes help in preventing lower body injuries by allowing the players to move quickly and by helping to transfer body weight. At the competitive, level you have to choose proper shoes.

Different players require different types of basketball shoes. Some players, especially power players, need shoes with high tops with maximum ankle support and comfort. Some others, like all-around players, need mid-sole shoes. Speedsters need lightweight, low-top shoes with no restriction of the ankles. Many players use tennis shoes for playing basketball, but there are risks in wearing these shoes, like the increased chance of sliding, becoming injured, and slowing down by weak grip.

Basketball shoes are made up of leather, synthetic leather, or canvas. The most frequently used material is synthetic leather, which is more durable and lightweight than natural leather. Some use only natural leather but these shoes have a tendency to stretch. Many basketball shoes have combinations of synthetic leather and natural leather or textile.

Team shoes feature a highly durable sock liner. Today, there are different styles of basketball shoes on the market. When buying a basketball shoe, the most important things to be noted are durability, support, traction, comfort, and style. There are different shoes for men and women.

Basketball shoes are more advanced than running shoes. When playing on a hardwood floor, you need shoes that provide good traction, both for forefoot and heel. The basketball shoe size must be suitable for the toes, arch, and heel. Many of these shoes have pillow-like landing pads with elastic quality. Many have heel plates for increased support. Basketball shoes are available in different colors or as team colors, and the pricing changes accordingly. These shoes can be purchased directly or online. The price of leather shoes ranges from $35 to $190 for a pair, but canvas shoes are available from as low as $17.
